Stalker by Lars Kepler (tr. Neil Smith) #BookReview #BlogTour

The internationally bestselling authors of The Sandman and The Hypnotist return with a terrifying new thriller: Detective Joona Linna--recently returned from compassionate leave--reunites with hypnotist Erik Maria Bark in a search for a seemingly unassailable sadistic killer.
The Swedish National Crime Unit receives a video of a young woman in her home, clearly unaware that she's being watched. Soon after the tape is received, the woman's body is found horrifically mutilated. With the arrival of the next, similar video, the police understand that the killer is toying with them, warning of a new victim, knowing there's nothing they can do. Detective Margot Silverman is put in charge of the investigation, and soon asks Detective Joona Linna for help. Linna, in turn, recruits Erik Maria Bark, the hypnotist and expert in trauma, with whom Linna's worked before. Bark is leery of forcing people to give up their secrets. But this time, Bark is the one hiding things.

Review Policy

*Currently closed to requests while I catch up on my tbr list, sorry!*

Thank you for taking the time to read my review policy. I am UK based blogger, but am very happy to consider reviewing books published worldwide and will accept submissions from publishers, PR companies and authors. I can read either print or ebooks. I love crime fiction but also enjoy SFF, historical, contemporary and women's fiction, YA, and some non-fiction, particularly memoirs. I'm also willing to read outside my preferred genres should the blurb entice me! I enjoy sharing books with my youngest daughter so I can also review books aimed at the 9-13 year old market; she prefers exciting adventure and/or fantasy stories with strong protagonists. I occasionally read romance but no erotica, please. I love taking part in blog tours and can usually provide a review but am also happy to feature guest posts or to host a Q&A with the author.
I usually have several books lined up so if you would like a book reviewed by a certain date I will require at least three months' notice. If you don't have a date in mind I will add your book to my tbr list but please be aware it may be several months before I'm able to read and review it. Blogging about books is a hobby I am passionate about but I also have a job and a family so I may not be able to accept all requests. Please note if I don't reply to your request within two weeks then regretfully I'm unable to review your book. If you require a post for a particular date but I'm unable to offer a review, I am happy to feature an original guest post of your choosing or an extract from your book.
My reviews are always honest but I prefer not to post negative reviews so if your book is not for me I will contact you to explain this. I believe all books have their audience and sometimes I'm just not it! I will never ask for any payment for my reviews and I am not part of any affiliate program.
I can be contacted through the form in the sidebar on the home page of this blog, via email at or via @karlou on Twitter.

Please include the following information
Title and author of book
Publisher (if applicable)
Publication date if not already published
Cover image
Author's bio & photo
Links to the author's website and social media pages (if applicable)

I share my reviews on Twitter, Facebook, Goodreads, Pinterest, Instagram and Amazon UK.

I look forward to hearing from you!

  1. You've certainly read some best-sellers! Your Review Policy is clearly set out, and I think it is kind of you never to post negative reviews.
