Alaskan Holiday by Debbie Macomber #BookReview #BlogTour

An uplifting tale of finding unexpected love in the Alaskan wilderness from bestselling author, Debbie Macomber.

Before beginning her new job as sous chef at one of Seattle's finest restaurants, Josie Stewart takes on a six-month position cooking at a lodge in an Alaskan lake town. It's only temporary--or so she thinks, as she becomes a valued part of the local community, falling in love with the people who call the Klutina Lake home.

But one man, in particular, stands out among the rest of Josie's new friends: an intriguing swordsmith whose very existence forces her to question whether her heart wants to return to Washington at all.

I'm delighted to be hosting the blog tour for Alaskan Holiday by Debbie Macomber today. Many thanks to the author and Rachel Kennedy from Arrow for inviting me and for my advance copy of the novel.

I don't tend to read much romantic fiction but as Christmas approaches, there is something about the season that means I'm drawn to books…

Review Policy

*Currently closed to requests while I catch up on my tbr list, sorry!*

Thank you for taking the time to read my review policy. I am UK based blogger, but am very happy to consider books reviewing published worldwide and will accept submissions from publishers, PR companies and authors. I can read either print or ebooks. I love crime fiction but also enjoy SFF, historical, contemporary and women's fiction, YA, and some non-fiction, particularly memoirs. I'm also willing to read outside my preferred genres should the blurb entice me! I enjoy sharing books with my youngest daughter so I can also review books aimed at the 9-13 year old market; she prefers exciting adventure and/or fantasy stories with strong protagonists. I occasionally read romance but no erotica, please. I love taking part in blog tours and can usually provide a review but am also happy to feature guest posts or to host a Q&A with the author.
I usually have several books lined up so if you would like a book reviewed by a certain date I will require at least three months' notice. If you don't have a date in mind I will add your book to my tbr list but please be aware it may be several months before I'm able to read and review it. Blogging about books is a hobby I am passionate about but I also have a job and a family so I may not be able to accept all requests. Please note if I don't reply to your request within two weeks then regretfully I'm unable to review your book. If you require a post for a particular date but I'm unable to offer a review, I am happy to feature an original guest post of your choosing or an extract from your book.
My reviews are always honest but I prefer not to post negative reviews so if your book is not for me I will contact you to explain this. I believe all books have their audience and sometimes I'm just not it! I will never ask for any payment for my reviews and I am not part of any affiliate program.
I can be contacted through the form in the sidebar on the home page of this blog, via email at or via @karlou on Twitter.

Please include the following information
Title and author of book
Publisher (if applicable)
Publication date if not already published
Cover image
Author's bio & photo
Links to the author's website and social media pages (if applicable)

I share my reviews on Twitter, Facebook, Goodreads, Pinterest, Instagram and Amazon UK.

I look forward to hearing from you!

  1. You've certainly read some best-sellers! Your Review Policy is clearly set out, and I think it is kind of you never to post negative reviews.
